A firm’s documents should not be scattered across personal folders, email attachments, and copies with different names. Magnar Drive brings your work documents together in Magnar and presents them as a native location on your computer.
You can open and edit documents from Finder on macOS or File Explorer on Windows, while the structure, permissions, and new versions remain in Magnar. Everyone can keep working with their usual applications without separating files from where the team organizes them.
How to get started
Magnar Drive is available inside Magnar Desktop. If you do not have the application yet, download and install it using the Download Magnar Desktop button at the end of this post.
Then open Magnar Drive from your user menu or the card in the sidebar and enable Sync files.
Magnar will add its own location in Finder or File Explorer with all the content you can access.
A shared structure for the whole team
The location brings together Personal and all your organizations. Within each space, documents follow the same structure as your work:

Library. Documents and file spaces that are not associated with a project.

Projects. All documents for projects that do not belong to a client.

Clients. Each client with their projects and related documents.
Organization no longer depends on the folders each person created on their computer. Magnar Drive shows a consistent structure and respects existing permissions, so each user sees only the spaces and documents they can use in Magnar.
Work without moving documents out of place

Edit the existing document. Open a DOCX in Word or another file in its usual application. When you save, Magnar keeps the document in place and records the new version.

Add new documents. Drag or create files and folders within an allowed location to add them to the relevant client, project, or space.

Reorganize work from your computer. Renames, moves, and deletions accepted by Magnar are also reflected in the platform.

Keep the current version available. Changes made in Magnar appear on disk, and people with access can find the latest version without exchanging separate copies.
Your documents stay in Magnar
Files download only when you open them, so they do not take up local space before you need them. Your computer acts as a work surface; documents remain stored and organized in Magnar.
You can disable Magnar Drive at any time from its panel in Magnar Desktop. This removes synchronization credentials and the local cache, but does not delete documents from Magnar.
